The Museum der Kulturen Basel, with a collection of over 340,000 objects from all regions of the world, is systematically researching its collection for coloniality and highlighting how complex and challenging ethnological provenance research is. We have translated the contributions to the publication, edited by Anna Schmid and the Museum der Kulturen Basel (MKB), into a graphic form across 366 pages. The design of the chapter openings refers to the colored dots on page 91. These show the roles of the actors at the moment of the first change of ownership of the objects.
