In the Merian Gardens, which belong to the Christoph Merian Stiftung, the wildlife camera regularly photographs wild animals. With two photographs, the CMS wishes everyone surprising encounters in the new year.



2021

Paper made from lemon scraps was printed with zest left over from the production of beetroot juice. The pigment extracted from the peel was used as an ecologically degradable printing ink on the paper. This screen printing process gives the residual material collected and processed in Basel a new use.



2015

The New Year's card is made of completely biodegradable paper containing flower seeds. The following instructions are printed on the back: ‘Put potting soil in a pot with a maximum diameter of 20 cm. Moisten the New Year's card and place it on the soil. Cover with potting soil and water three times a week – and the flowers will soon sprout in the new year.’
